“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.”
A mantra Keen Cotter Aka Mecca or Young Mecca has lived by. It is now undoubtedly that his hard work and self-determination has indeed paid off.
The St. Lucian Hip Hop artist has been nominated for five awards at the 6th annual Underground Music Awards in Bermuda including Artist of the Year and Best Male Rap Artist.
“Never Enough,” produced by Sherwinn “Dupes” Brice with featured backing vocals from Shayne Ross, is the song which has secured Mecca his five nominations. The music video to “Never Enough” which was shot in the east coast village of Anse La Raye by St. Lucian producer and director Davina Lee has also been nominated for Best Music Video.
“I am very thankful for these nominations and look forward to representing St. Lucian Hip Hip and urban music to the fullest in Bermuda this July,” Mecca said. “Just being nominated alone is an acknowledgment of my talents and hopefully I’ll return home with at least one award. I am also thankful to Dupes and Ross for their help on the track and Davina for the video.”
