A Soca Experience

It feels like yesterday when we were jamming to an up tempo calypso and calling it Soca. Now before you start saying I am being disrespectful, I am not knocking the Calypso art form or anything but that is what we were doing.

Then they came, New Generation Soca Stage with a dream of introducing Soca music to St. Lucia. They did just that. This year, although many have complained that our Soca music was lacking creativity, you can’t deny that N.G. brought just that at every show they staged, no pun intended.

Their launch was sweeter this year as they celebrated ten years of bringing quality Groovy and Power Soca music to St. Lucians and the world. Dubbed “The Ultimate Soca Experience 2” they pulled out all the stops to ensure that it was indeed the biggest and best Soca show anyone had ever attended on the island.
