Caribbean Soca Monarch

After the splendid display of the Kind and Queen of the Bands, we moved on to the Caribbean Soca Monarch. No doubt everyone was primed and ready to wave their rags and flags. The show opened with a performance from the Groovy Monarch Alpha after which the first artiste out of Guyana, Bonesman was introduced.

He as well as each artiste from the Caribbean islands held their own and most of them won over the hard to please crowd, dominated by St. Lucians. Rags were in full swing for artistes such as Skinny Fabulous, Mr. Benji(Sousse Man), Ricky T, and D.J. HP. Mr. Killa and Mr. Pringles had more than flags waving. Barricades were transformed into wavers as they performed the “mash up” tune DE FENCE.

In the end, Ricky T retained his crowd, edging out H.P who had beaten him days before. H.P. had to settle for a second place and Mr. Pringles and Baby Killa who made the crowd mash up, break down and build back fences came in third.
