LONDON 2012

St.Lucia’s
world ranked high jumper Levern Spencer will
be the beneficiary of major corporate support
this weekend as she prepares for the 2012
Olympic Games scheduled for London England
next July. Levern recently became the first
St.Lucian to qualify for the upcoming Olympics.
A special committee formed by her management
team on Saturday July 30th launched a new
project called Levern London 2012 at a ceremony
where Levern Spencer was present. The project
aims to provide Levern with all the necessary
resources in order to perform at her best
during the rest of her career with particular
focus on the 2012 Olympics.
During the ceremony various corporate partners
unveiled their areas of support which included
specific areas of her athletic development
as well as some new contractual advertising
campaigns using her image for marketing and
endorsement of selected products.
Levern Spencer who is the Caribbean’s
leading female high jumper of all time and
holder of numerous records and titles, recently
added some more silverware when she won the
gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean
Championships earlier this month.
Levern stated that she is elated at this new
initiative saying “It has helped me
feel even more motivated as I set off on the
road to London 2012 and beyond always aiming
to make my country St.Lucia very proud”.
Ms. Spencer has further reiterated her great
appreciation for the continuous support of
her family, coaches, management, the St.Lucia
Athletics Association, the St.Lucia Olympic
Committee, Sponsors and the St. Lucian public
in helping her attain great heights in her
track and field career.

seven times) More than any other St. Lucian.
