Richard
C Ambrose
Richard
holds an Arts degree in Choreographic Studies
from the St.Denis Paris VIII University (2010)
in France, where he also participated in several
artistic projects including the pharoahic
opera ‘Aida’.
He obtained his Diplome D'Etat professeur
de danse in Jazz (2007) and Contemporary dance
(2008) and studied Techni’Ka at Lena
Blou’s choreographic Centre in Guadeloupe,
also working with renowned tutors from the
Danish and Cuban ballets, Frederic Yahn, Elena
Madan Vera, and tutors from the Ailey school
such as Darius Grandison and Fred Lasserre.
Since then, Richard has attended conferences
on Contemporary Caribbean dance representing
St.Lucia in Haiti and Martinique.

Barry
George choreographed Richard in the solo for
Digital Technology, a hip-hop/ contemporary
Ballet for the Biennial Dance Festival in
Grenada in 2003. Later projects included a
solo for Caged - Barry George's expression
of ‘the limits placed on artistes' achievement
in St.Lucia- and choreography for 'Dance of
the Villages' the SSPAA presentation in collaboration
with the People's Republic of Taiwan.
Richard served as one of the choreographers
to 'Esperence', a ballet to celebrate the
30th independence anniversary of St.Lucia
and served as the lead and choreographer to
'Lombwi/Navel String' a dance production for
the 3rd World Festival of Black Arts and Culture
in Dakar, Senegal.
His other projects include a ballet ‘Prodigal’
for an HIV/Aids awareness campaign in Antigua.
Richard also works with choirs such as the
St.Lucia School of Music Community choir,
St.Lucia National Youth Choir, Liberty Voices
Chorale, Freedom Voices and Rise St.Lucia.
