HE IS COMING!!

Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, Floetry, The Isley’s, Joe, Estelle, Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, Ciara, Rihanna, Al Green, Air Supply and the list goes on. Every year the good folks at the St. Lucia Tourist Board pull an Ace out of the deck to put a stamp on an already stellar line-up. This year is no different and after much speculation on social networks such as facebook and twitter, the official announcement was finally made.
The stellar line-up for the 2011, 20th anniversary edition of Saint Lucia Jazz is now complete. Main organizer - the Saint Lucia Tourist Board, says it has been able to seal the deal with international R&B and Grammy nominated superstar Trey Songz who will headline the main stage Saturday May 7, show.
So what can fans expect when Trey hits the stage in May? Well as we have seen from a few live performances, the R & B crooner has showed that he has grown tremendously as a performer and as a man. St. Lucia won’t be seeing a boy who was just thrown onto the scene. He can sing live and there won’t be any studio gimmicks.
His catalogue alone speaks for itself. Trey released his first album, I Gotta Make It, in 2005 and by 2009 his third album, Ready, was released in September. It debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, moving 131,000 units in its first week and featured such singles as ‘Neighbours know my name,’ and ‘Yo’ Side of the Bed.’
His fourth studio album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure, was released on September 14, 2010. He began work on the album in early 2010 with Sean Garrett(Massive Attack), Troy Taylor and Stargate and had stated that the album would be his most personal to date.

The album's lead single, "Bottoms Up", featuring Young Money’s female Barbie, Nicki Minaj, was released on July 27, 2010 and has reached number twenty-four on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and was shared enough over the social network Facebook to appear as a trending video on ItsTrending. Trey also filmed the video for the album's second single, "Can't Be Friends", on August 1, 2010. "Can't Be Friends" was released as the album's second single last August.
Trey embarked on the Passion, Pain & Pleasure Tour on August 6, 2010 with singer Monica. The tour was his first headlining tour to date and consists of shows in venues that seated 3,000 to 5,000 people. Trey also contributed the song "Already Taken" to the Step Up 3D soundtrack. He filmed a video for the song, which was released in July 2010. The leading lady in the video is his former girlfriend and professional dancer Helen Gedlu. Sorry ladies. Trey Songz appeared at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, 2010.
Director of Tourism Louis Lewis says the addition of Trey Songz to the line-up, “further diversifies this year’s impressive mix of artistes and allows us to pitch and market the event to an even wider audience, particularly the youthful fan base that gravitate to artistes of that calibre.”
Grammy nominated Trey Songz’ latest album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure was released in September 2010 and music industry experts say it was his first release since making the transition from a rapidly rising young artiste to a bonafide R&B Superstar.
The late, great Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun once declared Trey to be "among the most promising R&B artistes on Atlantic since the company started 60 years ago.”
