INTRODUCING: De Block Youth Information and Support Centre

The St. Lucia Planned Parenthood Association’s Executive Director, Mrs. Audrey George, sat down with the youth arm of the Association - Youth Advocacy Movement (YAM St. Lucia): to obtain their views and ideas on what the Association can do to help the youth deal with the different changes they undergo; as well as informing her on some of the services that can be offer to the youth. It was through this discussion the idea of a Youth Centre emerged.

In July 2003, De Block – Youth Information and Support Centre opened it’s doors to the youth at the Save the Children’s Fund building in George the 5th Park (the Gardens), with the approval of the late Ruby Yorke. In October 2004, the Centre was relocated to their own office space on Chasseau Road. On October 1st 2009, the Centre was once again relocated to the top floor of the St. Lucia Planned Parenthood Association on 21 Jeremie Street, next to Gender Relations/opposite the Morne Du Don Bus Stand.
