The
Rotaract Club of Saint Lucia --Fellowship
Through Service
Rotaract
clubs are community based 'service' clubs
for young men and women ages 18 to 30, sponsored
by the local Rotary clubs. The club seeks
to develop professional and leadership skills
within the youth and also to practice and
promote ethical standards. This effort starts
at the community level but knows no limits
in its outreach. Rotaract is also an international
network of over 7,300 clubs spanning more
than 150 countries and geographical areas.
With
that said -- World Rotaract week is here.
It is a week set aside to honour the chartering
of the first Rotaract club. The first Rotaract
club was chartered on the 13th March 42 years
ago in 1968. This year, the week spans from
the 7th to the 13th of March. It is a time
for Rotaractors worldwide to celebrate its
success and let the community know of the
work Rotaract has done.

The
week of activities included Radio interviews
on 105.3 Hot FM and Blazing 99.3 FM, the distribution
of Flyers at schools and local businesses,
all leading up to the main event, our community
service project, to be held tomorrow the 13
of March. The Regional Rotaract clubs have
all sent contributions to help with the Hurricane
Tomas Relief effort. Everything from goods
in barrels to monetary assistance has been
sent and on March 13th we will be distributing
these items to the Bexon area.
Are
you a young professional who wants to make
your community a better place? Would you welcome
the chance to expand your circle of friends
at home and around the world? Are you looking
for ways to build or hone your leadership
skills and explore career opportunities? Are
you looking for a great time and experience
while doing all of the above? THEN ROTARACT
IS FOR YOU! Come join us on Thursdays at the
Central Library at 6:30pm
