Diaries
of a Dream Queen
Peeps!
What’s up? I’m hoping it’s
your spirits because I’m feeling ‘a
lil bummed out.” Seriously, I’m
yawning here and typing. (I hope no one is
offended though, I guess we all go into our
zones now and then…but I’m sleeping
in my mind and awake in reality so guess I’ll
be okay? “Lol”) I’m currently
reading this novel “Sail” by James
Patterson and Howard Roughan. I’m telling
you this book, is awesome! And I’m saying
that in a soprano voice so you KNOW that I’m
speaking the truth. My favourite novelist
who’s also a well known best seller
is Sidney Sheldon. I just can’t get
enough of his novels! Uh…why am I speaking
about this anyway? “Lol.” Guess
I’m just sharing just another chapter
of my life. I adore reading but ever since
technology got so incredibly amazing, that
went right out the door! I’m talking
about Facebook, Twitter, the “must have”
Blackberries and so forth. I wonder what mankind
will invent next. I’m telling you although
technology gets so amazing at times, it sure
has its disadvantages! For example, if you’re
at a meeting, and you’re busily “bb-ing”
away sometimes you may have missed half of
the message. Seriously, I used to read every
second! Right now, that’s history and
I’m disappointed in myself so I’m
trying to bring back that zeal once more.
Now…let’s talk business! This
made headlines! Worldwide! Who watched Miss
Universe 2011?? Well if you didn’t I
sure did! And I’ve got to say hats off
to Joyann Biscette! I’m quite patriotic
and despite the various complications we may
have going on in this country I’m still
proud to be Saint Lucian. I was recently speaking
to a stranger in the U.S. and he asked me
“Where are you from?” I responded
“Saint Lucia” of course and he
was impressed.

He
was like “Wow! How romantic! An amazing
getaway! Beautiful Island” So if someone
is speaking about my Island with such high
regards, why shouldn’t I? Anyway back
to the Miss Universe topic. I think the judges
made the perfect decision when they chose
Joyann to represent us. The other girls were
all amazing including Patrish Lionel and I
know that my girl is going to represent us
next year if God’s willing! Right ‘Trish?
“Lol” Joyann has such an amazing
personality, she’s so bubbly, intelligent,
there’s just something about her that
stands out and she represented us well! And
the winner…Miss Angola! I had my eyes
on you! You definitely stood out for me! I
did my research and found out that she was
the second black African woman and the fourth
black woman in the world to win the Miss Universe
title. Many individuals world-wide were contented
with the judges’ decision. My Facebook
Newsfeed and Twitter Timeline…..absolutely
crazy! A lot of people were rooting for Leila
Lopes. The second the winner was announced!
Everyone went whoop! Whoop! That girl surely
made black people proud and this was a moment
to remember! I also want to congratulate my
friend the aforementioned Patrish Lionel who
took part in Miss Jam Zone International which
was held in Guyana. She’s taken part
in quite a few pageants, and has taken home
titles on various occasions which she can
be proud of. I think you’re an amazing
girl and you represent us well as always!
So hats off to Joyann Biscette and Patrish
Lionel! Well guys, I’m out for now!
And this time, it’s not to eat! “Lol”
I’m usually telling you all that I “gtg”
because somehow, it just happens that I’m
always hungry at the time being. Have a crime
free weekend! Much love, Barbii Doll/ Rae
Anthony.
