Cianna
Dalson, six year old genius!
Rae Anthony

Cianna
Dalson who lives in Agard, Morne Du Don, is
not your typical six year old girl. However,
this girl is more or less a genius and her
impressive vocabulary and self-expression
suggests that within the first few minutes
of conversation. Daughter of Calixtus Dalsan
and Amy Mitchell, the young girl expressed
herself freely during an interview with us.
Student
of Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School, Cianna
has always ‘aced’ her tests and
come first in class. The comments from her
teachers suggested that they are quite proud
of her. Cianna enjoys ballet and has been
dancing for two years now. She performed a
piece without hesitation and sang along while
she danced. Cianna says that she enjoys going
to church and hearing about God. She says
when she gets older she would like to travel
with her parents and that she especially wants
to visit China so that she can collect fossils,
which is an unlikely statement for a six year
old to make but which is quite impressive.
She says that she would like to have a fossil
collection. Apparently Cianna has done her
own research because when looked up online,
it says that China has some of the finest
fossils ever discovered.
Her
favourite subjects are General Science and
Mathematics. She has gotten many awards which
would leave an individual speechless because
they are that great in number. She says she
enjoys watching movies with her parents and
likes going to various places in the island
including Pigeon Island.

When
asked what she would like to be when she grows
up, she said “I would like to be a vet!”
She says she has pets of her own including
a cat she calls “Peow.” She says
she loves watching Animal Planet on television.
Cianna said that she would also like to be
a tennis player when she grows up. She said,
adorably, “I would like to play tennis
when I get older because they get to put on
really nice clothes!”
She
enjoys learning. She says she also likes to
make breakfast for her mom for Mother’s
Day. She said “Last year I gave my mom
a banana for Mother’s day, I wanted
to give her more but I can’t use the
stove. This year however, my granny helped
me. I gave my mom a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich and tea.”
Her
dad was present during the interview, but
did not even have to contribute anything because
she was more than capable. He says she’s
an intelligent girl who loves to learn, and
he says as a parent, he will help her in any
way that he can, to go very far in life. He
says that both he and the mother are very
proud of their daughter and they will do their
very best for her.
