Dear
Helpline,
I have a boyfriend who I think is really into
me but sometimes I feel like he lies to me.
Sometimes I think he’s all I need, and
other times I feel like I want to leave him.
What do you think I should do?
Confused
Dear
Confused,
You
need to first of all ask yourself why do you
think that you feel this way. Why do you think
he would lie to you? Is he giving you reasons
to be suspicious? Sometimes he could be distracted
by work or other issues in his life that he
may not discuss with you. You also need to
think of what it is that you really want.
You stated that sometimes you feel like he’s
all you need and in other instances you feel
in more or less words the exact opposite.
You can’t run away from every relationship
just because you get the feeling that your
partner is lying to you. We’re all human
and it is natural for people to lie. If you
really like this guy, you need to sit down
and discuss the situation with him calmly.
Don’t start acting up and make all kinds
of accusations but just let him know how you
feel. You also need to be aware of the mood
that he is in before you make your move; always
use your discretion. We’re all human
and it is normal for you to feel this way.
If this guy loves you, and you love him just
the same you will be okay once you sit down
and talk about the situation.
