SUMMER
HEALING
Troubled
and confused, she sits alone on the swing
Watching everyone else enjoy the summer sun
Feet buried in the sand box, tears start to
run, down her cheeks and onto her black and
white dress.
Each
drop a reminder of the life she lives
Each sob, pure evidence of the pain she feels
A closed fist full of sand, the memories she
longed to erase
Eyes
tightly shut; she wishes them away, and with
the blowing wind and dancing particles of
sand,
More tears start to flood......And she opens
her hand
Into the distance they danced,
Her heart aches, pains and troubles,
Along with sand
Between
the trees and over the roof tops
The sadness she once knew.
Now gone with the wind
