Hurricane
Tomas
(We must rise)
His
heavy winds, and heavy raindrops,
Could not be stopped by just one prayer
The dark sky and distant clouds
Made my country scream for fear
His
name itself was not that calm,
For tress he devoured with just one sound
and made them fall flat to the ground
The water he held as high as he could to stop
the cows from breathing
He wrestled through my countries land and
tore everything to the ground
Broken
homes and destroyed lives one could not believe
what was seen with their eyes
Loss of water, loss of land cries for help
to some open arms
We felt no hope, not all was strong
Nor withstand such pain and sorrow
He came to hunt And he haunt us down, for
we thought we would not see tomorrow
Alot is lost in my countries land, But if
we all can work together,
Saint Lucia once again can rise above the
water
Put its country back in order
And reach higher ground!
