The
Courtroom
As I sat in
the defendant's seat
Attempting to relax and wondering what the
future held
The jury stared at me with unreadable eyes
The only witness that night gave his testimony
Oh dear God, my words against his
My family and friends weren't even there
The judge's looks gave me the chills
I had committed a crime with no alibi
The witness on the stand related the scene
Oh dear God, my words against his
I knew then my worst place in life
Would be that sacred, lonesome room
Where all my dreams and hopes crumbled
All because of one great mistake
His words would definitely rule over mine
