Fear is a curtain
To push aside
The future is dark
Uncertainties hide
You wake each morning
Ignoring the sun
Not seeing the sunset
When daylight is done
Where in this world
This day changed life
How many have died
From thrust of a knife
How many have made
A foolish mistake
Or did the right thing
Or died for love’s sake
How many have brought
New life to the earth
How many forgot
What their loving is worth
