December 17th 2011
This year was one of the most fun, crazy, annoying, hurtful, happy, sad, stressful and I wouldn’t trade it all for nothing! I loved every minute of it. I want to start my final Slouch for 2011 by saying thank you to all people who help put this magazine together every week. I am truly blessed to have such a strong support team working with me and I know sometimes it might get a little testy, but that’s nothing we’re not used to.

Also I want to thank our advertisers and most important I want to thank you the readers. I want to thank all our short story writers and poets. I want to send a special thank you to our contributors as well, those who take the time out to cover an event and write up the article for submission in the magazine. It is because of people like you all the YO! Magazine continues to be the success that it is and we truly appreciate each and every last one of you.

I know that you may have been getting hints about us having a few new ideas for the new year( thanks to Rae and her tweeting habits) well I can confirm that it is true and expect to be blown away in 2012, God willing. I would really love to let the cat out of the bag but I won’t. I can give a hint though, YO! Magazine will be going places it has never gone before, and it might leave a few people with their mouths wide open.

Hey, don’t worry, that won’t be a bad thing, trust me. I don’t know if you noticed but our Christmas and Anniversary edition this year made it into one issue. We decided that instead of splitting the celebrations, one which usually takes place in October, why not have a grand finale in December, hence open this new YO! chapter come January.

I am incredibly excited and I cannot wait to share all our new ideas with you and of course hear you views and feed back. Eight years seems just like yesterday to us, but looking back we’ve come a long, long, way. This journey like we said would have never been possible without each and every last one of you.

This Christmas season, I pray that everyone will give a lot more and ask for a lot less. I also hope that everyone can wake up with a smile on their face and joy in their hearts. I also pray that we don’t forget the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate just as much as we party.

As we celebrate our eighth anniversary and look forward to the ninth, be warned that for the entire year of 2012, you should always have your seat belt on when reading the YO! because, we are about to take you on the ride of your life!

Until then, have a great weekend, seasons greetings and we will see you all God willing, in January.

Scady. P
