Patience is virtue.
I have heard my mother say that for years
now, and it is only now I am really starting
to realize, the true meaning of that phrase.
How many of us would like things done as soon
as the idea comes to us? If you are saying
“not me” then you need to stop
lying. Everyone would at least like to have
something completed at record time. The reality,
however, is it cannot be done.
If
you would practice some patience, you would
realise that the feeling you have after you
have completed the task is a lot more gratifying,
than if it had just been completed in a split
second.
Patience
also helps you to sleep better, since you
cannot solve all your problems in one day.
Going to bed, with your mind set on tackling
your project the next day will help you get
that much needed eight or more hours sleep.
The
power of patience is exceptional. It will
help you transform all things for the better;
even situations and circumstances that you
think are destined for disaster. Take for
instance if you are late, and you are driving
and a car comes out of no where and almost
runs you off the road, patience will help
you overcome road-rage when another car almost
hits yours.
Patience
also defuses situations, before they escalate
to a level that might result in your facing
a harsh consequence. Take this scenario, you
are in class and someone has just insulted
you in front of the entire class. Patience
will help you to overcome anger when someone
insults you, face to face.
Now,
think about this. You need an education and
you want to learn. Don’t you think that
it is because of having patience that your
teachers are able to teach some of you? Patience
will help your teachers or instructors, to
accept the limitations of you, the students.
I am sure there are some of you, who give
the teachers an extra hard time daily, but
thanks to that “P” word, they
haven’t quit or thrown you out of the
class.
Anyone
has an extra slow, sluggish and outdated computer?
You know the type of computer that will start
up two hours after you have turned it on.
Now, why haven’t you retired old faithful
yet? Simple, maybe you were told that a new
one is on the way and you have to exercise
a little bit of patience.
Finally,
the biggest reward of being patient is that
it makes you a winner. Yes! Patience will
help you become a winner, because as you may
know, small steps climb big mountains. So
today, go ahead and practice a little patience,
you’ll never know what it may bring
you.
Have
a safe weekend ya’ll and God bless.
Scady.
