CCSS HOST FIRST EVER INTER - HOUSE GENERAL KNOWLEDGE QUIZ

On Thursday June 05 2008, the CCSS Sports Program hosted the first ever Inter House General Knowledge Quiz at the CCSS Auditorium. The competition commenced at 1:30 p.m. with the four Houses namely Finch, Amazona, Heron and Oriole. Each House was represented by four students.

The quiz comprised of seven categories; Technical & Vocational, Mathematics, English, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Business and Modern Languages. There were 12 rounds with each House being asked one question in each. Houses were able to capitalize on wrongly answered questions which afforded them the opportunity to gain extra points. The most popular category was Mathematics with all twenty questions being answered.

At the end of twelve rounds of competition Finch House emerged the winner followed by Amazona, Oriole and Heron House respectively. The point’s standings are as follows; Finch House 66 points, Amazona House 60 points, Oriole House 49 points and Heron House 43 points.

This inaugural competition organized by the CCSS Sports Program has been hailed a complete success. It will now be included in the annual House of the Year Championship which spans from September to July of an academic year. The House of the Year Championship is an inter house competition which encompasses sports, extra and co-curricular events.

The CCSS Sports Program congratulates Kianna Charles, Emmery Edward, Rena Antoine and Elias Maxius of Finch House on a well deserved victory.
