The Department of Youth and Sports is currently finalizing plans for the staging of this year’s Inter Schools Road Race which is scheduled for Sunday 15th March 2009. The race begins just outside the Caribbean Cinemas at 9.00 a.m. continuing along the Gros Islet Highway to end in front of the Gros Islet Town Council.

To date a number of Schools have registered for the Event which promises to be a highly contested affair.

Prizes will be awarded in the following Male and Female Divisions.

UNDER 14 1st , 2nd, and 3rd
UNDER 17 1st , 2nd, and 3rd
UNDER 19 1st , 2nd, and 3rd
OVER ALL MALE AND FEMALE
First; Second and Third

Schools Sports Meet Updates:

District One comprising Primary Schools in the Babonneau and Gros Islet Districts staged their annual Sports Meet on Thursday 12th March 2009 at the Mindoo Phillip Park. For the seventh consecutive year the Meet was sponsored by S.M.J. Limited agents for BUSTA. A record number of nine schools including defending champions Monchy Primary participated in what a very interesting and keenly contested event.

To date a number of schools in the Districts have successfully staged their Inter House Meets and judging from the performances of the various athletes.
