LeBron
James is bringing his talents to South Beach
-- and unfortunately his reputation as well.
The new Miami Heat star's popularity has plummeted
since leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers, with
only 14 percent of the general population
viewing the 25-year old as a positive figure,
according to new "Q Score" research
Tuesday. In January some 24 percent saw him
in a positive light. But that was before the
brouhaha of this summer's NBA free agency,
when James publicly proclaimed he was leaving
the Cavaliers in a much-criticized primetime
special airing on ESPN. Now, 39 percent of
the general population views James negatively,
compared to 24 percent for the average sports
personality.
Reggie
Bush took the unprecedented step of giving
back his Heisman Trophy on Tuesday, saying
the scandal over improper benefits while he
was a star running back at Southern California
should not stain "the dignity of this
award." The New Orleans Saints' star
won the Heisman — symbol of the best
player in college football — in 2005.
Returning the trophy has no practical effect
on Bush since he's already in the pros and
a member of a Super Bowl championship team.
However, it is the first time in the award's
75-year history that a player has forfeited
it.
Somebody
is lying, the question is who? Was Floyd Mayweather’s
baby momma Josie Harris lying about dating
Bulls guard CJ Watson just to make Mayweather
jealous? Is CJ Watson lying about not breaking
lamps with Harris, so his long term girlfriend
doesn’t find out or he is scared Mayweather
might come looking for him? Chicago Bulls
point guard C.J. Watson wants to make one
thing perfectly clear — he has never
… nor will he ever … date Floyd
Mayweather Jr.’s baby mama … despite
what she told police. Hmmm. Okay! Floyd hasn’t
be charged with any domestic violence crime.
Kevin
Durant beamed as he listened to his national
anthem, which hadn't been played at the end
of the basketball world championship in 16
years. And that was no "B-Team"
standing beside him on the center of the medals
platform. It was the best team in the world.
The United States won its first world basketball
championship since 1994 on Sunday, beating
Turkey 81-64 behind another sensational performance
from the tournament MVP.
