We
all need it!
Purpose
Three
word answer: To eliminate ignorance. To get
an education means to have career opportunities
open to you. Without some sort of education,
the chances of being able to be successful
are decreased. Many employers will not hire
someone without a high school certificate
or diploma. The purpose of an education is
to exercise your mind and teach you disipline.
It also will help you in future careers. Also,
the purpose of education is to train children
in a way that you want them to be. Training
is a process over time. Training is getting
your child five days a week.
Whatever
the ways of living are, each society wants
its children to fit into the society of the
parents. The children are expected to carry
on the values and ideas of their parents.
Schools are expected to give children the
tools they need to earn a living. That has
been the traditional understanding of a good
education.
Young
people are the key to St.Lucia’s future.
We want to make sure we are ready to take
on any challenges the future might bring.
Getting an education is an important way to
make this happen. Education is for life—once
you’ve got it, no one can take it away
from you. You never lose it, and it’s
never wasted. A good education prepares you
to build on your abilities and sets you up
to keep learning forever.
As
part of being prepared for the future, it’s
good to start thinking about what you want
to do, and learn how to make it a reality.
You need to know what your strengths are,
what options you have, and how to make choices
that will give you a career you enjoy and
a happy life. When you have this knowledge
and you know where to get more information
when you need it you’re more likely
to stay focused, finish school and do well
as you move on to adult life.
Remember,
the purpose of education is to preserve and
enhance our knowledge and to develop our character
within our society which will prepare us for
the conditions of extreme in the near future
is bringing.
