From the street to the web. You've read the "Street Vibes" articles in our magazine, now it's your time to express your opinion on the various issues.

How friendly are you?
April 10th 2010

We meet new people every year, whether it is through friends, family or on our own. These people either come into our lives for a brief period or sometimes much longer, but do you think it is harmless to make friends with a practical stranger even though he or she may appear seemingly harmless or pleasant enough? We went to the streets to see how friendly some of you were.

Jacqulin: I think it’s cool to make new friends. If I’m approached by a stranger who seems polite enough, I would have a conversation with him or her provided I had the time to do so and the conversation was interesting enough. I wouldn’t waste my time otherwise.

Chris: Yeah man. I just started in the tourism industry and it’s a part of my job to entertain strangers but you get to really enjoy it after a time. You learn a little from them and they learn a little from you. Some of these people go back to their homeland and still send you a postcard from time to time.

Frederick: I’m not very social, nor am I so comfortable amongst strangers. I don’t welcome strangers into my small circle of acquaintances. I think people generally come into your life with an agenda. I may sound pessimistic but it’s true, whether it be a good one or bad.

Stanley: Yes, I like meeting new people but not in dark allies. I enjoy discovering new things and sharing stories and stuff but I won’t put myself in any potential danger to do so.

Mitchel: There’s no harm in meeting new people, once they show me respect and are intelligent enough to hold a good conversation.

You've heard what these people have to say. What do u think? Post your opinion below!!
