What do you think should be done about parents who take matters into their own hands?
January 16th 2010

Considering the many such cases occurring in our local schools, here’s what you guys thought should be done to curb future occurrences.

Carlton: They should have these parents arrested. By no means should parents be allowed to come in their children’s school and start fights with teachers or students. I’m sure these parents don’t even show up at PTA meetings. Why can’t they just set up an appointment to discuss their child’s issues with the principle and the parent(s) of the student they have the issue with. There’s other ways of handling them things.

Janet: The principle should give them a week in a classroom. Let them see how angelic those little devils are when their parents aren’t around. They feel it easy. They should see what it is. I respect teachers and doctors to the max. I feel these people have the most difficult jobs and hardly get any reward for their efforts. I don’t support parents making it anymore difficult for teachers, they’re only human.

Tricia: I think some of them parents and students need professional help. I mean some of these people sometimes have serious personal problems battling with. For example, finances, drugs, abuse, anger management etc. I know teachers should not be allowed to beat a child so severely that there are marks all over his back or buttocks but it is equally wrong for the parents to try and behave in the same manner. I think every school should have a trained psychologist to speak with these children/parents when they’re acting up. I think this could help, especially when you know what you’re working with.

You've heard what these people have to say. What do u think? Post your opinion below!!
